Community Reports

These reports map the livelihood status of marginalised communities. They offer a comprehensive, data-driven picture of welfare gaps and structural exclusions, guiding long-term planning rather than immediate crisis response.

Denotified & Nomadic Tribes (DNTs) in Rajasthan

DNTs are among India’s most excluded populations. Nomadic lifestyles, lack of permanent addresses, discrimination from officials, and linguistic and cultural barriers contribute to their systemic exclusion from government schemes and services. States classify DNTs differently within SC, ST, and OBC lists, limiting clarity on rights and entitlements. In this context, citizen-generated data provides a way for DNT communities to document their own conditions, verify findings, advocate for access to entitlements, and drive immediate, community-led action.

Scheduled Tribes in Bihar

Scheduled Tribes in Bihar make up an estimated 22 lakh people across communities such as Santhal, Oraon, Malpahariya, Gond, Tharu, and Kharwar, yet remain underserved across most development indicators. Limited access to quality education, insecure land possession, irregular housing and welfare support, low and unstable incomes, weak healthcare access, and routine discrimination deepen their marginalisation. The absence of a Scheduled Area status and limited political representation further restricts their reach to state provisions. Through citizen-generated data, ST communities are able to surface these gaps, build visibility, and push for stronger entitlements, protections and inclusion.
